High Quality Acid Jazz from Mexico City that plays like a traditional old school jazz funk jammy, but is obviously influenced a lot by the Brand New Heavies and the Bristol gang.
Tito was actually Cheech and Chong’s first tour manager (!!) before spinning out and back to music, his first love. A tasty track that infuses Cuban style horns with a funky R and B jazz beat, Our Man From Bombay sets the tone and shows off Tito’s chops.
The mood gets Spanish at times and rides back and forth between jazzier pieces and more funk flavored joints. But its a groovy feel good record for cocktail parties and for entertaining it just can’t miss. Lopez also played with Herb Alpert and Tito Puente, Check it out.
