So Therapy? have reunited, those who knew they had split must be thrilled because this is a cooler record than any other Therapy record I’ve heard. It is a straight up, ‘We are a rock and roll band, and we just went off in the studio for two weeks, feel the rawness,’ experience. The guitarists complement each other nicely, one plays single note riffs with punk effects, and the other big metal chords without (thank dog) any crap soloing. Also, this guys lyrics make almost sense to me, and usually that’s a good thing.
On the only other Therapy record I listened to more than a couple times had really stupid and gross singing on it, like bad KMFDM. An example of this years batch is ‘We should go away together, mongrels in a mess forever, Welcome to the church of noise.’ So the lyrics are a little better too. A solid effort, and the title is sensible as well, they are usually totally detached.
