After tremendous success with two chart topping dance singles, Sun announced the release of her newest single, ‘Ends of the Earth’ which already has the Billboard critics and club go-ers taking notice.
The single was written and produced by The Underdogs which is co-owned by Damon Thomas and Harvey Mason. Their creative team has worked with artists such as Justin Timberlake, Kelly Clarkson, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez. Sun was personally invited by The Underdogs to record in Los Angeles. From that session arose Ends of the Earth.
Ends of the Earth was unofficially released in early October of 2005, and has quickly climbed the Billboard Dance Chart where it has already climbed into the top 10. It also debuted in the top 20 on the Billboard Dance Radio Chart.
Notable remixers such as Eric Kupper, Jason Nevins, Peter Presta, Mike Rizzo, Tony Moran, Warren Rigg and Deep Influence all contributed to the soulful dance single. Paul Oakenfold, who has worked with U2, Michael Jackson, and The Doors, along with Steve Solasso and Soul Seekerz remixed ‘Ends of the Earth’ for the UK single.
Ends of the Earth had its live performance premiere in August of 2005 at 103.5 KTU’s annual Beatstock concert in New Jersey. KTU is one of the world’s largest radio stations. In front of a crowd of over 32,000 Sun and her five backup dancers performed to choreographer Jeri Slaughter’s rhythmic moves. Jeri Slaughter choreographed Christina Aguilera’s last world concert tour and her ‘Dirty’ music video. He has also worked with other artists including Shania Twain, Kelly Osbourne, and Christina Milian.
Ends of the Earth success comes off of Sun’s most recent hit, ‘Without Love’ her second US Single which hit Number #1 on the US Billboard Dance Chart on January 15, 2005 and sustained itself in the Top 25 Billboard Dance Radio Chart for over four months. ‘Without Love’ was produced by Jimmy Harry, who has worked with international pop superstars including Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue, and remixed by notable producers such as Mike Rizzo, Tony Moran, Eric Kupper, and Peter Presta.
For the UK release of ‘Without Love’ Bimbo Jones, Motiv8, and Steve Solasso were brought in to provide additional remixes. Upon the UK release, ‘Without Love’ conquered the dance charts, reaching Number #1 on ‘Music Week’s Upfront Club Top 40’ Dance Chart and proved yet again the continual international success of ‘Without Love’ and Sun, sharing the top spots with Mariah Carey, Ashanti, Kelly Clarkson, Kelly Osborne and Nelly. ‘Without Love’ hit #2 on “Music Week’s Commercial Pop Club Chart” and #2 on DMC Magazine’s Dance Club Chart as well.
Sun’s 1st US single, ‘One With You’ was released simultaneously in the UK and US in April 2004, reaching Number #1 on the UK Music Week Club chart (June 12, 2004) and Number #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart (June 19,2004).
