It takes a certain kind of artiste to release two separate albums on the same day. In Nelly’s case, he seems to be sweating more under this bizarre marketing antic than strapped up all slick in a suit. Fortunately (for him), he appears blithely unaware, having previously contemplated releasing three albums instead of two. Sweat carries signature Nelly ditties ala ‘Hot In Here’ type tunes, while Suit is a mellower R&B album that’s a threadbare attempt at post-party reflection. While interesting collaborations with the likes of Tim McGraw, Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliot and Snoop Dogg lend Nelly a helping hand, there isn’t much incentive to pick up two albums – we suspect that a genuine fluctuation between the two might leave you stranded in the middle: nothing at all.
