Debut LP from King Kooba on the diverse Second Skin label and, as you’d expect, it’s a melting pot of 90s beats and funked up grooves.
The album kicks off on a drum & bass tip, from the soundscape opening cut "Release The Kraken" to the panic stricken beats of "My Little Phoney", and the ‘live bass’ led "Brown [Paper !!] Blood".
Moving into funky breakbeat territory with "Freakmeister", and more laid-back licks like "Nearly", rolling back into drum & bass with "Elephant" and "White Lady" before winding down in the sleazy breakbeat splendour and blunted haze of "Kloke" and "Cat’s Eye".
