As a solo artist, Brown has yet to find himself. His third solo album, Music of the Spheres, is an improvement over his lo-r solo debut and his over-produced second disc, but it misses as often as it hits. The last one exhibited a sense of itself and power that made one think of Peter Gabriel’s early records. There are a few good tracks here, but it’s about as inconsistent as the later Stone Roses output. Shame.
