JOE COCKER Respect Yourself

Joe was just 24 when his now classic cover of "With A Little Help From My Friends" cruised to number one and enjoyed 13 weeks in the charts. But now, turning 58 years old, some of that old passion appears to behave been diluted with time. The latest cover to be thrusting him into the limelight is his re-working of the INXS classic Never Tear Us Apart, but Cocker has done little to originally craft the music and you have to question whether there was any point at all in him taking the time to record it. The low point however, is This Is Your Life, a "live for today" track with more cliches than you can possibly count on two hands, two feet and a very big abacus.
