Are you ready to go with the flow?
Australian Industrial outfit Divine 9 are set to hit Singapore shores once more with the upcoming event FLOW in Ministry of Sound come 5th September, Tuesday. Organized by youth collectives Indulge, Playprojekts and hiphop specialists The Illers, Flow boasts a high profile lineup utilizing all the rooms in the entire Ministry of sound complex.
Confirmed acts include: Divine9, local scene heavyweights Ronin (universal), Great Spy Experiment, Tien, Yamaha Asian Beat 2005 finalists Project Ultrasound and Strentorian. DJ Jason Chow of WKRZ 91.3fm is set to host the event and spin together with Drum and bass maestro Vortex (exitmusik) among the announced deck surgeons in the works. Rumours have been confirmed that Chart toppers Electrico as well as Saw Loser (a.k.a Pug Jelly) are also set to play for this massive hip-hop vs Live endeavour.
Given the rise of large scale youth orientated shows, including the recent Baybeats and Youth Gone Wild, both presented by Motorola, the expectations for Flow are high indeed with the main sponsor yet to be unveiled. The age policy for Flow is set at 16+ for the main floor of Ministry of sound and 18+ with alcohol served on the upper storey.
Although security is necessarily expected to be tight, many industry figures are excited about the prospect: said Calvin Sio, 31, Marketing Manager, Ministry of Sound Singapore, “We hope to reach out to the youths with an event such as this one and I think this event will be a great platform to showcase the Ministry of Sound to our future clubbers”
The surprise announcement of this show was given by event spokesperson, Winson Lau, 18, vice-chairman of the Flow committee “This event is a youth for youth initiative in which we have engaged talents from the scene in order to prove that such a large-scale youth driven event is on par with corporate music festivals in Singapore.” What can I say? Go with the Flow.
