Blondie's existentially titled No Exit (BMG) actually has some edge to it. Here, the original four members throw themselves into 14 numbers that prove that even 20 years after their heyday, the first generation new wave has a lot more heart than a good 80% of today's flavor of the week pop.
The styles are dated but the grooves rock (ok there's two ballads), and Debbie can still work up a sweat without imitating anyone. Trivia: Name a white rapper before Debbie Harry on 'Rapture'. ? |
