You'd think a teen drama soundtrack would be chockfull of popular sell-outs - wrong. The soundtrack from the OC, or Orange County for that matter, heads off on a different tangent with a tasteful blend of indie and emo rock material, featuring bands still yet to ring a bell in the minds of the popular music consumer. The creators of the show intentionally chose music from unknown bands to showcase new talent, and what a wonderful effort it is. The album is a refreshing alternative take to the usual pop mix and exudes a certain sentimental lulling quality that reins you in before you even realise it.
