Rewind: The Latin Sessions

The most painful part of being a paraplegic must be having to hear classic mambo and not being able to put a hand over your lower abdomen and shake your hips across the room. It doesn't matter if you know the complicated Cuban steps or not: Mambo makes people want to move like nothing else. The concept of this 2-disc set is to pay tribute to the masters of mambo by having contemporary greats like Diane Worwick and Quincy Jones update the old sound.

It doesn't work. But you can toss the first disc out upon purchase and still get your money's worth. The second disc is full of original, sweet mambo goodness, with tracks by banana-headed Carmen Miranda, angel-voiced Celia Cruz, demon-drummer Tito Puento and instrumental mambo maestro Perez Prado. These classics are guaranteed to get you up out of your wheelchair and counting time in Spanish.
