THE DONNAS Gold Metal

What can I say?? Maybe... I expected something different? On the other hand: the Donnas evolve with every record and again they changed their music style a lot. They sound more harmonic, somewhat fluffy but the great ACDC style riffs are still there. I think maybe the Donnas matured in their songwriting but I somehow miss the young and angry rock sound. This is too much adult rock orientated for my taste (but hey, this CD is reviewed by a girl who likes Nashville Pussy... I think it’s still rocky enough to call a rock CD Gold Medal). Still, one of the best girl bands ever!

LISTENWhat excites me most about Portishead DJ Andy Smith's The Document, the zaniest mix-CD ever released through major-league (and probably even minor-league) distribution, is how seamlessly Smith mixes from Marvin Gaye's "T...
