ORBITAL Work

Work charts their musical career from the seminal Chime to Funny Break and Illuminate. In theory this should stand as a testimony to their talents of biblical proportions. But they had to go and mess around with it didn't they? The revamped version of Halcyon reminds me of Highlander 2 in that it's so bad; it manages to ruin the original. What they would probably describe as brave experimentalism in collaborating with David Gray, I would describe as growing old. Another dose of widening artistic boundaries sees Kirk Hammet of Metallica fame, dismantle Satan, leaving it pale, weak, and like the film it was made for (Spawn), forgettable.

Don't get me wrong, I love Orbital and I would love to be there at Glastonbury bouncing around to all the old classics, but this is exactly why I am being so picky.
