SCARLING So Long, Scarecrow

When the first time I listened to the record, all I could say was "WOW" for the next few days. They have really outdone themselves this time. Welcome new members Beth Gordon and Derik Snell to the lineup consisting of Rickey Lime, Jessicka, and Christian. The record is very moody. I sat and thought, "This is the perfect record to listen to during a dark night or during a thunderstorm". And what do ya know, a thunderstorm swept through my area as I listened for the hundredth time in those few hours of receiving it.

There's no comparing to Sweet Heart Dealer because I feel they are two completely different things. This is yet another album where I like, no, LOVE every track. Did I mention the album artwork? I thought I was going to perhaps see more artwork by Mark Ryden. Instead, the band switched directions and have photos done by Piper Ferguson (with a tint of Mark in there on the back photo?!). It sets the records mood just looking at the photos. They're very dreamy. Kudos to Piper for the great job! As for lyrics, I feel there's more hate and "I don't care what happens to you" throughout the album. At least that's what I got from it as I related the songs to my personal life.
