Judy Collins is a living legend. Her musical influence has spread over decades and her vocal interpretations have inspired millions.
At 13, She made her public debut performing Mozart's "Concerto for Two Pianos" but it was the music of such artists as Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger, as well as the traditional songs of the folk revival, that sparked Judy Collins' love of lyrics. She soon moved away from the classical piano and began her lifelong love with the guitar. In 1961 Judy Collins released her first album, A Maid of Constant Sorrow She even inspired one of the biggest songs of the 1970's when Stephen Stills penned the Crosby, Stills & Nash hit 'Suite Judy Blue Eyes' about their former relationship. In 1972 she released the renowned collection Colors of the Day: The Best of Judy Collins A favorite of Bill & Hillary Clinton, it was Judy's version of 'Chelsea Morning' that inspired the naming of their daughter Chelsea. In 1975 Judy won the Grammy for song of the year for 'Send in the Clowns,' a ballad written by Stephen Sondheim for the Broadway musical A Little Night Music. Judy's recent book, Sanity and Grace is a deeply moving memoir, focusing on the loss of her only son and the healing process following the tragedy. From her participation in the 1964 Freedom marches in Mississippi (Hey Nellie Nellie) to her political activism during the Vietnam War (Dylan's
