It may sound strange to most that a reggae band would sprout from an eclectic scene that is dominated by the top 40s and the international arena at large…
But for the young members of Bushmen, theirs was a coexistence realised by a common aim when they start performing at the International School of Singapore in 1997. Taking the assemble on the road; lead vocal and rhythm guitar Syed, lead guitar Restam, bass guitar Hassan, keyboardist Hairul, drums Sofy, and percussionist Rahman, perform live and direct to the masses at local pubs, clubs and restaurants.
To date after the released of Rise Up, Bushmen were invited to work and perform at Hard Rock Cafe in Singapore, Bernie’s BFD, Bernie Goes To Town, M1 Anniversary, Coco Carib, Te A More (Latin club), China Jump, American Club, Pine Tree Club, Papa Joe’s, The Black Room, Good Fellas (K.L.Malaysia), Zuma, Fabrice’s World music Bar, Ipanema World Music Bar, Culture Club, Water Front, Sunset Bay, Sunset Jive, and the launching of Bob Marley’s album: One Love: The Very Best of Bob Marley & the Wailers by Universal Music.
Bushmen also appeared in numerous live performance in concerts and dance festivals, with international DJs (John Digweed, Dave Seaman, Kosheen Soundsystem, Stacey, Skatalites, Pullen, Ministry of Sound, etc…) Artists (Sisters Sledge, Incognito, James Taylor, Skatalites, Quartet, Soul Bosa Trio, Bananarama, Alphaville, Belinda Carlisle, etc…).
